What kind of place is"Smile-Port"?
 
"Smile Port" is Nishi Ward Child Care Support Center.
Welcome to "Smile Port", a place where kids (preschoolers), moms, dads, grandparents and guardians can play, learn and relax together.
Children must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian and be supervised at all times.
Please cooperate each other, all are able to spend time comfortable and safely, at "Smile Port".

Open : Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm
 
Close : Sunday, Monday, Holidays, End of the year and New Year's Day

Welcome : Preschoolers (mainly 0-3years of  age) and their parents / guardians / expecting mom and dad / caresupporter
   

eRegistration

 
The registrashon is limited to Yokohama citizen.
 

①First, you need a registration and fill in the registration form at the front counter.

   Then we'll   give you a "membership card."

②We'll guide you how to spend time at Smile Port and show you around.

③Please tell the front how many members of your family are there.

  

 

After you registered

 

①When you come to Smile Port, please show us your membership card.

②We give you a holder and please put your membership card in the holder and wear it.

 

③Please write your kid's name on the tape at front counter  and put it on your kid's back.

④When you leave, show your card and give the holder back to the front counter.

 

 

 How to come?

 

①No parking lots for cars and bicycles. 

   Please come here by Public transport.

②Please hold a buggy and place it at the fixed place.  

③When you take a buggy, please use the elevator.

   Don't use the escalator with a buggy.  
 
Use of mobile phone and taking pictures
When you need to talk on the phone or take pictures,please let us know.
 
  For disasters
Please obey instructions of the staff,for example,at the time of the disasters such as earthquakes.
 

Food/Drinks  

 

①Lunch Time: 12:00pm to 13:00pm.

   You are expected to prepare the table for your lunch  and to clean up.  

②As for the milk, the nursing, the baby food, available in a small room.  

 

The hot water for the powder milk is prepared.

 

④Coffee /tea is charged. Please take the other drink by each person.

 

Please refrain from the carry-on of the snack to consider food allergy. 

 

Please take the garbage such as empty boxes of the lunch, or PET bottle home with each person. 

 

When you nurse your baby, please use a nursing corner or the nursing room.A

 

 

 

 Diaper Exchange

 

①Diapers are to be changed only on the change table provided in the washroom.

 

②Please take the dirty diaper home with you.

 

 

 For security 

 

①In"Smile Port", children must be supervised at all times by their parents/ caregivers. Please confirm security of the child by each person.

 

Because there is a risk to slip in the room, the children are recommended to take off socks.

 

③ When the "Port" is too crowded, the admission to the place may be restricted for security.

(You can confirm the situation in our URL.)

 

④Please be careful to the doors at the entrance of the building.

        

 

 Others 

 

Please manage the valuables by yourself.

②You cannot smoke in "Smile Port". 

③Please do not bring picture books and toys.  

④When you damage toys, picture books and equipment, please inform the staff immediately.

1.Open Space

 

The stuff members welcome you to this place where little children and parents can get together with other families. Our staff will welcome everyone warmly.
 
2.We manage "SmilePort" with Nishi-Ward. 
 
3.Consultation on Childcare
 
The stuff members are here for you so please feel free to talk to them about your worries and ask them questions on raising child/children.
 
4.Information Providing
 
The Center provides the local childcare information, which we collect and arrange well so that you can find your references easily. We also deliver such information through our web site and newsletters to the people who cannot come to the Center.
 
5.Child Nurturing Support Network Development 
 
We support making good relationship among the people who are engaged in childcare, parenting, and the networking to assist childcare in the community.
 
6.Education and Support
 
We hold classes and training programs on childcare and parenting support as well as provide the opportunities for the people of the community to get involved in supporting Childcare.
 
7.Yokohama Child-rearing Support System
 
Yokohama City has supported child nurturing by facilitating citizens needs of leaving and taking care of kids in the community. We have a dedicated coordinating office to help the arrangements.

Moving to Japan has not always been easy at the beginning.
